Rivers is not a business person, his success (or dumb luck) always had an expiration date...AndyWelsh wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 8:41 amSad news that Remy’s on No Fixed Address Lane is closing along with all of its sister venues, including CREAM Jetty Road, Brighton. Owner made clear in his Facebook post that this wasn’t another recession issue but more of a personal financial one.

Looks like there’s some changes happening to the middle units of the Railway station ramp.

I recall Renewal SA saying long ago that the ramp tenancies would be upgraded to be more in keeping with the station's heritage (around the time the top two were demolished). They were also supposed to install public art in the northern entrance. Hopefully these committments are being followed through.

They should get rid of them all. They are a cluttered mess which ruins the grandeur and symmetry of the original design. There are plenty of other less obstructive places to put tendencies like these.SRW wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 11:49 amI recall Renewal SA saying long ago that the ramp tenancies would be upgraded to be more in keeping with the station's heritage (around the time the top two were demolished). Looks like the heritage style you mention is happening. The donut place on the main corner of these units is also being done now too.SRW wrote:I recall Renewal SA saying long ago that the ramp tenancies would be upgraded to be more in keeping with the station's heritage (around the time the top two were demolished). I like that they’re keeping the frosted window style consistent with the coffee place inside the station too. It’ll be interesting to see who takes these units and what they’re allowed to do with signage.

These improvements at ARS are nice, but the focus really should be on upgrading the station platforms and concourse first. This is where people are spending most of their time
waiting for a train, or walking to a waiting train.
The lighting is terrible, the tiling is outdated, the environment doesnt feel safe, the signage is tacky, it feels dark and cramped and there are so many water leaks.

100% agree with this. Long overdue for a major upgrade.[Shuz] wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 7:13 amThese improvements at ARS are nice, but the focus really should be on upgrading the station platforms and concourse first. This is where people are spending most of their time

It's been so tired for decades now, a nice new station re-fit would surely start to erode some of the stigma that public transport in Rads is shit.

Is that bird droppings on the metal bar above the Station Kiosk sign?
Personally I think they should swap the brown framing and go with black. The brown looks very dated.

I'm still intrigued to find out what's been going on with the larger retail units next to the Guardsman. The bigger one of the two was seemingly being fitted out over the course of a few months and now both have had their windows frosted. Fingers crossed that was a temporary tidying-up measure for the Gather Round and they haven't just decided to convert these into office space for the casino or something.

The changes to the curved corner unit at Adelaide Railway Station can now be seen:

Wonder if the Donut Inn sign will come back?

A couple more from today with the new heritage details:

I feel as though floor to ceiling glass would have looked better than what's been done here...
Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
Perhaps, but they're very small tenancies, and the serveries probably need to abut the ramp.Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 03, 2025 6:48 pmI feel as though floor to ceiling glass would have looked better than what's been done here...
