If you compare the London transport plan with the Victorian transport plan, you will see how behind the Vics are!

I would not be too hard on the guy (and as you know I was also annoyed by a couple of his (her?) posts - i lost so many nights sleep over it!
). If i remember rightly, the above post by ricecrackers was in response to the barren area under an elevated road in Victoria. I too found it to be "pure ugliness" and would hate to see similar in Adelaide. Give me underpasses anyday.
Many of us have done similar to ricecrackers - written a poorly worded post, been a bit too agressive/abrasive, or made a one-line negative comment that doesn't extend the conversation, but instead acts to shut it down. A good learning for us all i suppose?

some of this has already been done, but it changes every 6 months....old fashioned policy on the run.........no case of a simple plan and sticking to it.
Rann & Co seem to want to release info to the public by drip feeding us...which means they simply are making it up as they go along.
we have all this political piss-farting around with no clear agenda or plan that inspires anyone...
we have a combination of spin doctors and panic merchants in our ministry that are working against each other with their own pissant agendas.
the Thinkers in Residence program would have to be the joke of the century....basically an admission by the govt, they have no idea. its like a distraction for the people to talk about them while they're here thus taking focus off the govt themselves.
as for the Advertiser, i think they've published a front page story of the Adelaide Oval debate every day this week and the public have lapped it right up. pathetic pissant mentality of Michelangelo Rucci in particular...its time for this outdated publication to cease its existence and new media to take over
Yeah some good points there. I definitely agree that we need a strong government that looks beyond their term and beyond the length of the publics attention span. And yes think how much gets spent on telling us the gov is doing a good job rather than them actually doing a good job. But how can we get some decent pollies? The libs are at least trying to have a bit of a vision, whether the substance is there though is up for debate, but it seems Labor just isn't even trying any more. They just do the bare minimum and bombard us with propaganda saying they are awesome, mainly cause they know they have weak competition. So i guess im leaning towards the libs come election time just so if they get in labor will go, "oh i guess we will have to come up with a vision/plan then."
and yes a decent media is needed in a democracy to keep the gov honest. It would be great if we had a main stream local paper of the integrity of the Age or Syd Morn Herald but that focuses on SA issues. id rather the tiser than nothing though just so local issues do come to light however disproportionate.
yeah it looks like we may remain a city of all talk till we get some better pollies and paper. Thank goodness we have good festival/event directors whom seem to do a good job pity the gov usually steals their glory. Maybe Sen Ad members will seep into the local governments and will champion a competent politician? fingers crossed

Ahh yes. I agree with you here Will and that statement mirrors what someone said on the forum about the proposed Perth Waterfront several months (possibly nearly a year) ago. Upon looking at the proposed tower, someone stated that it was nothing compared to what's happening in Dubai.
That statement and your statement Will are both true; hence where does that position us in the category of
"Impressive Infrastructure Plans"?
BTW ricecrackers, indeed Scarface did have a plan, but what happened to him? [Do I have permission to show the clip showing his last stand?] Not that I'm implying that that will happen to us, but that's what's happening to the Conservative Vocal Minorities and the APPA!
