Guess what, Rundle mall have just announced they going to demolish part of the David Jones complex and build a multi story luxury retail precinct.

Is this the final nail in the coffin for Burnside? Considering Rundle Mall have got like 600,000 people walking past each week.

Thanks for the link to that article. This was a bit surprising though:

When: Three opening dates for new development: 29 May 2025, 25 September 2025, and 1 July 2026

I assume the official initial public opening is this month, but what are the second two dates referring to?

I haven’t seen an application for Ralph Lauren although staff said they expected the store to open in July. It could be one of the ones started fit out but no tenant description.

Uniqlo signage is now visible on the corner of Greenhill road and Sydney Street.

I've heard today that the Portrush/Greenhill Rd corner mural is temporary. The corner is meant to have Louis Vuitton branding but timing did not align, so the wave/reflection imagery is a placeholder. Apparently LV are still intending to move into the new section of the centre, but it will be "among the last to open" because "it's a pretty big store".

Well LV branding will help. Will make the new shopping centre much more luxurious and appealing to the higher-end customer

I’ve been saying this for months it was obvious in the original plans, but will be waiting till July next year for it to be done when the luxury corner of shops open.
