I think the second tower is going up as ground is being cleared right next to the first tower

The next part of this development is a 5-6 storey building similar to the Gallery. It's not
a tower.
a tower.

BIg 6 page article about this in the latest SA Life Magazine. Some new information is the second "tower" is to start construction next year simultaneously with "The Loft".
"The design will be in the same family as Altitude but noticeably different".

good news. Im looking forward to seeing the 3 built on the other side of Franklin and Morphett Streets, but that maybe a few years off
[CAN] Re: #U/C: The Precinct - 5 x 18 lvl - 58m towers
yes it mentioned the completion of the project is 2019, but considering there are still 4 x 18 level and 4 x 8 level that is atleast one per year for the next 8 or so yearsjk1237 wrote:good news. Further to the above "The Loft" is likely to get approvla on Thursday although the planner does have some issues which need to be resolved. Certainly not an award winning development thus far.

These buildings are ugly and the apartments are tiny and overpriced. The best thing about the development is it adds people and density to this end of the city.

It's projects like these that confuzzle me. What stopped them from building 2 or 3 100m+ towers instead

Staging: You could build a large project (if you can get the finance). But you'd have it sit there under construction being a money pit.iTouch(myself) wrote:It's projects like these that confuzzle me. What stopped them from building 2 or 3 100m+ towers instead
orrrrr
You could build several smaller projects, one at a time and get a steady income.
Your choice...

but seriously what monotone said (remember the spire on betham) and our extreme air-safety rules, if you've seen how low planes like to fly over the CBD you would see why wespac is our tallest..need to get very strong demand here and redirect all flights by making the Adelaide CBD restricted airspace/no-fly-zone whatever it's called, then we might get some 200+m towers going up just like in Brizzy, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melb, could take a few years.

dont see why we need huge towers when most of the CBD is still covered in single and 2 storey buildings and practically all of the suburbs are single storey.
there is still plenty of room available for < 20 level developments

I've given examples before of airports that are closer to a CBD, with planes flying closer to buildings, then what in Adelaide. And the buildings are taller.
Then you have places like Hong Kong, which had an airport surrounded by high rise. Never stopped them building tall buildings.
But for some reason it seems our council is under the belief that if they allow tall buildings they will magically attract planes out of the sky onto them.
