There was already far too many sets of steps along there. Shame they couldn't have flattened it out a bit and used less steep ramps.
[COM] Re: UC: Torrens Footbridge | $40m
There is a massive ramp on the opposite side of the bridge that winds its way up from from Torrens level to bridge level.

So after using it tonight. For 300 dsys of the year it isn't needed it is fine.
For the days it was specifically built for, to move football crowds, it isn't.

I see people using the bridge all the time. Its not like its a wasteland during the week. I have not experienced it with the football crowds on the weekend though.Waewick wrote:So after using it tonight. For 300 dsys of the year it isn't needed it is fine.

Great photo .... think the waterfall background will be a popular backdrop for wedding photos and family snaps.Matt wrote:

Post-match it's been horrible. So slow. That said there's actually plenty of room along it, but people up front just walk too damn slow.

I like the waterfall effect, but not having seen it for myself in person yet I'm struggling to think where it could be. It looks like the bridge just stops in the middle of the water, but I already know that's not the case!

The bridge curves north-east. There is a part that continues for a very short distance away from the northern bank of the Torrens. It's at the end of this bit.

Lighting to the arc isn't far off by the sound of it. A friend drove past this evening and apparently it was lit up like a rainbow.
[COM] Re: UC: Torrens Footbridge | $40m
Yep half the bridge was lit up tonight in blue, red, green and yellow.
I took some photos which I'll upload soon.
