Yes you are entitled to your opinion. You have posted it nine times so far on this forum. Enough.

If you have never pretended to root or sat on top of the Rundle Mall pigs you are not a true South Australian.

The irony being that the more that is written complaining not just about the pigs, but about people enjoying the pigs, the more successful they are.

It does't have to make sense, it's art.

The relatively new eRepublic Apple reseller on Rundle Street closed last week. Wonder if they are cutting their losses in the face of a new Apple Store or if they just never showed any sign of profit.

They never seemed all that busy. My guess a combo of not great business, and knowing it will only get worse once the official store opens.
Not a great spot either - the eastern end of Rundle St is almost entirely cafes and fashion. Would have been better closer to Pulteney St, amongst the camera stores.

I think they were counting on all the apartment dwellers around there.

GREAT NEWS – Iconic S.A. Retailer Charlesworth Nuts Takes Over Iconic Site
by THE HEAD NUT on APRIL 22, 2013

On behalf of my brother Mark and I, as Joint CEO’s of Charlesworth Nuts, and
on behalf of everyone in our Company, we just wanted to let you know that
Charlesworth Nuts has been successful in signing a lease for No 1 Rundle Mall
(the old Darrell Lea site) one of the most famous retailing sites in South
Australia.

If you don’t happen to know this site it’s on the corner of King William Street
and Rundle Mall, the window into the biggest and busiest shopping precinct in
South Australia.

We have been formally recognised as an iconic South Australian family
company and above all else we think it’s fantastic that a company such as ours
has been able to secure this iconic retail site on behalf of all South Australians.
With the Rundle Mall undergoing a major redevelopment…with the Adelaide
Oval being developed along with the bridge over the Torrens…with shops
staying open longer to attract more tourists…and with City residential numbers
enjoying a boom…the City of Adelaide is undergoing an exciting renaissance
and we believe this is the perfect time to be launching a new flagship store in
the city.

We have been keeping negotiations over the last 6 months reasonably
confidential (until it was signed and sealed) but now we’re happy for the whole
world to know…and we wanted you to be amongst the first to hear about it.
Thank you for your support in the past and we look forward to having a long
association with you into the future.

Have a great day…I know we’re going to.

Perfect solution. It'll be lovely to see two iconic South Australian businesses at the entrance to the mall.

For anybody who has been to Lucky Lupitas at Bedford Park, you'll no doubt be excited to hear they are opening up on Rundle Street soon.

They were closed last time I was back but thrilled that the city is getting a decent Mexican place... finally.
