What on earth are you on about?

The only regional line that was electrified was the North Coast line up to Rockhampton for freight in the 1980s as well as the coal network (which turns over a MASSIVE profit for QR), and even that was done on political grounds.

Are Pacific National, QRNational & SCT establishing a container terminal at Seaton Park??

Maybe some coal from East Grange to Port Adelaide?? Winfield Gold train from Grange to Brisbane??

As to the Grange Line - it sees bugger all patronage & bugger all patronage potential. Wasting money running a heavy rail service there is a waste of money.

Albert Park will (presumably) also host the West Lakes Tram line.

If they have to run a lower capacity (light) and higher capacity (heavy) service to the other, they would be better off running the higher capacity to West Lakes, and the lower capacity to Grange. Obviously WL will generate far more boardings, not the other way round.

Personally I don't think Grange Cigarette Siding/East Grange Coal Terminal/Seaton Park Container City need rail services.

      Thought that may get u going

I have seen somewhere of a electric loco in Queensland. I was assuming that this thing wasn't just taking freight around Brisbane suburbs only. Or is it?   If not, then there must be a few hundred km of rural line electricifed. Right, or wrong
Why would u electrify half a trainline? If you electrify the Outer Harb line, anyone with any sense would either electrify the Grange spur, or just close it down completely

I wouldn't be surprised if Grange was closed. It doesn't go anywhere.

I don't think it'll be closed, but I do definetely believe they'll amend the proposal of electrifying the line, and simply convert it to light rail (trams). It makes little sense to construct dual-use voltage and lines on the Grange spur when West Lakes would only be served by a tramline anyway, so you might as well make the whole thing a tramline.

The patronage of the line warrants such a service, the train doesn't. And plus, it's cheaper.

You and your obsession with the O-Bahn...

Will we ever hear the end of it?

I agree with you there actually. The Grange line is in better shape then the Tonsley line but it is still only a small branch. You would need more tramway rollingstock but this would mean there is more heavy rail stock available to bolster services elsewhere (on a weekday, around 3/4 3000 class or 1 or two 3100 class sets).

Yes, the Grange Train is served by 2 3100-class sets on weekdays, not sure how many in peak, and 1 3000-class train on nights, weekends and public holidays.
