From what I have gathered this will go ahead in February 2021.

About a year behind schedule - probably for obvious reasons.
I'll confirm tomorrow from their Store Manager, if I can.

[COM] Re: Coles Norwood Redevelopment | 8 Lvls
Coles at Norwood itself are kept in the dark re: the redevelopment. They seemed unfamiliar with the 2021 date, and had previously been given various starting dates for the project: 'We were told it was going to be July, then August, then March...'

The Advertiser being the usual dogshit overly negative poorly written trash that it always is. The only useful piece of information in this article is this one is set for a start date of February next year.A $110 million upgrade of Norwood Mall is expected to swallow up to 240 car parks during construction.
In a letter to a resident, Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Mayor Robert Bria said as few as 60 spaces could be left in the existing Coles car park for customers during works.
Construction is expected to begin in February next year and take 18 months to two years to complete.
The State Government’s assessment panel ticked off on Australasian Property Developments’ proposed contemporary retail and residential complex with four towers built on land bordered by Edward St, George St and The Parade in January this year.
However, Mr Bria said the completed development would offer 347 spaces for shoppers.

“In any event, as you would appreciate, the development of this property as with any development of this type, results in the temporary closure of carparks,” Mr Bria said in his letter.
“At the same time, during construction, both the supermarket and the retail facilities in Norwood Mall will not be functioning and, as a result, there will be a significant reduction in carparking demand.”
Norwood Residents Association president Chris Francis said a loss of parking spaces was a “necessary inconvenience”.
“Ultimately we will gain more provision for parking once the project is completed,” Mrs Francis said.
Kintaro Sushi ownerGavin Huang said the works would make it harder for customers to park near his business.
“It will have some impact, absolutely, but what can you do?”
The new precinct includes an expanded Coles supermarket, four retail outlets, a medical centre and an office in an eight-storey building.

The upper levels will house 24 two-storey townhouses and two levels of carparking above the ground floor.
Two five-storey towers will be home to 40 apartments and four penthouses.
In addition, nine apartments are proposed for a three-storey complex facing George St.
Australasian Property Developments has been contacted for comment.

The carpark in question is horrendous. Ideally it should be underground.

I agree too but this will extend the build time. What I hate about all this is that we can't have a supermarket until what is going above is near completion. Why couldn't they do this in stages? I will be without my favourite supermarket for possibly (up to) two years. Fark.ChillyPhilly wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 12:45 amThe carpark in question is horrendous. Ideally it should be underground.

Looks like the display centre / sales office for the Coles Norwood mixed-use redevelopment apartment component known as "COMO" is done. It's located next to the Salvation Army hall in George Street. They've been working on converting the site for the last few week or so.

That announcement has been known for a while and posted in the shop. More importantly...all apartments are under contract.

Demolition is underway. Expect it to ramp up over the next week. Supermarket should be coming down within the fortnight.
