Don't think so - they traded through COVID, and the closure was sudden.

Some rumours circulating that it may have been a dispute with centre management that resulted in the closure. A shame, as they made fantastic pizzas, and there isn't a comparable quality pizza place anywhere near TTP.

What about Tea Tree Plus? It's now looking like nothing but a lifeless white elephant. :sly:
It's one of many 'problems' that needs to be focused on or even eliminated instead of being put under the rug.

Here's a 10-Year Comparison between 2011 and 2021:

Even God himself has just had enough of this 'Ghost Mall'. :wallbash:

So the title should be changed to complete then.

When they were based in the CBD they were doing a big investment raising campaign like they were looking to become a franchise chain, and pretty much the instant it was over moved to TTP. My guess is that whatever plans they had of scaling up didn't work out.

Actually, here's something from the very first post from almost 15 YEARS ago...
Shopping centres in $190m upgrade

October 19, 2006 12:15am
Article from: The Advertiser

THE Tea Tree Plaza and Tea Tree Plus shopping centres are to be linked in a $190 million redevelopment project.
The upgrade is a joint project by the owners of the centres, AMP and Westfield.

The site will be expanded by 13,000sqm to incorporate 95 new stores and a four-storey car park.

Entry points on North East Rd, Reservoir Rd and Golden Grove Rd will be altered to suit the new centre configuration.

The construction phase will create an estimated 1350 jobs.

Another 650 positions will become available at the finished centre.

Residents in the surrounding area raised concerns about increased noise, access and the impact on other nearby shopping centres at a meeting of the Tea Tree Gully development assessment panel before plans for the upgrade were approved.

And we're still waiting. It's just NOT GOOD ENOUGH. :wallbash:

Nothing but tumbleweeds and quiet music at Tea Tree Plus.
Why are the people of Modbury being treated like second-class citizens? :sly:
Caffe Boungiorno, Toys R Us, Radio Rentals and even Wendy's Supa Sundaes are among the brands to leave the building in past years.
“Gone with the wind,” a “failed investment” and “unpopulated” are among the terms I have used to describe the centre. :toilet:

Compare this with Westfield Knox for example: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/out ... nxxGuBXL8I

Plus was built as a competitor to the Plaza. It sold to the Plaza and the original owners probably made money on the way to its death.
Yes the Plus has no clear purpose to exist now, its purpose has come and gone.

New money goes to things like this:

I honestly doubt the Plus will ever get integrated.
They are better off redeveloping over near the obahn interchange. Residential, professional services and more food.

They're better off demolishing it and turning it into a two level car park, and instead expanding the main centre in the corner/car park to the south of tt plus, and connecting the Aldi to the main centre as well in the process.

Or better, replace it with a larger two-level Bunnings Warehouse (the current location, what used to be originally the only Mitre 10 Mega in the state has been outgrown).

No more freebies at TTP in paid parking plan.

Tea Tree Plaza will enforce ticketless paid parking – if the major shopping centre’s new plans are approved by the State Government.
Behind a pay wall.

If this plan also includes a major overhaul of TTP, then I see no issue with paid parking.

Redevelopment is LONG overdue.
