whilst I will always be disappointed that there isn't a shiny new stadium on the site.

I can't wait to see that photo taken from the Morphett St bridge taken again in 2 years time with the "cubes" all aglow and trams running in front of the building !

Ignoring the whole 'new v old RAH/right or wrong location' debate, the only gripe I have with this building is the ugly frontage it gives train commuters.

Serious?... you talking about the RAH or SAHMRI? IMO SAHMRI from any angle will be the best looking building in adelaide by a mile. I think the new RAH will look pretty damn good too.ChillyPhilly wrote:Ignoring the whole 'new v old RAH/right or wrong location' debate, the only gripe I have with this building is the ugly frontage it gives train commuters.

SAHMRI. Pulling into town on the train, commuters get the view of the building's ugly rear end at ground level. Not well thought out. Or maybe I'm being my pedantic self again.

One thing that puzzles me is the painting of the walls with the coloured triangles.
1. Wouldn't that normally be something they do towards the end at internal fit-out stage?
2. Given the coloured glass wrap around the building, wouldn't that make painted walls redundant, as the light coming through will create coloured patterns anyway (and in fact, turn a nice effect into a muddled mess)?

Nothing in the original renders looks like a coloured glass wrap. What you're seeing is what was designed:Nathan wrote:One thing that puzzles me is the painting of the walls with the coloured triangles.

Exit on the right in the direction of travel.
