I'll believe it when I see it, Con Makris is as reliable as a Rolex from Thailand!

Re: Glenelg-Kingscote Ferry
IF this goes ahead and IF it really is a two hour journey by sea, this will really hurt SeaLink. Especially if this has a similar cost to SeaLink. Glenelg to Cape Jervis would be about a 90 drive, plus half an hour from Penneshaw to Kingscote, the time saving is there already.
I imagine freight will still use the Southern dock though. I can't really picture half a dozen plus semi's lining up in Glenelg.

Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

I'm sure his got his reasons for all the delays. But far out, would he just shut up with the announcements every so often?buildit83 wrote:I'll believe it when I see it, Con Makris is as reliable as a Rolex from Thailand!
The only announcements he should be making from here on in, is that construction has started.
A ferry terminal? Moving the cruise ship terminal to Glenelg from Outer Harbor would be better. A much nicer entry to Adelaide for ship-born visitors.

Pretty sure that Glenelg is unsuitable for that because the water's not deep enough there.rev wrote:A ferry terminal? Moving the cruise ship terminal to Glenelg from Outer Harbor would be better. A much nicer entry to Adelaide for ship-born visitors.

They can dredge a channel so cruise ships can come in, birth, and go back out to sea.monotonehell wrote:Pretty sure that Glenelg is unsuitable for that because the water's not deep enough there.rev wrote:A ferry terminal? I think there's a few ship wrecks used for diving further out, if not they could sink a few old navy ships out there. Give tourists something else to do while down at the bay.

They can offer a tender service. I did a cruise around Europe last year and nearly all of the ports were a tender service.

Sounds like an exotic location. Is this anywhere near Europe?Ben wrote:They can offer a tender service. I did a cruise around Eurupe last year and nearly all of the ports were a tender service.

And mono, what's long shore drift? I'm sure with todays technology, where we can build all the marvelous things we have in this world, we could find a way to create a cruise ship terminal at the bay?

Why would we want to when we can have one at Victor instead?I'm sure with todays technology, where we can build all the marvelous things we have in this world, we could find a way to create a cruise ship terminal at the bay?
