[CAN] 82 Flinders Street | 53m | 17lvls | Office

It looks like gold glass to me. Would be cool if it were as gold as Eureka or at least AMP in Brisbane.

The glass will be bronze coloured.Shuz wrote:It looks like gold glass to me. Would be cool if it were as gold as Eureka or at least AMP in Brisbane.

I know the article says 53m, and Will has mentioned 53m, but either somethings not right, or those renders are massively deceiving. It looks almost twice as tall as IAG which im pretty sure is 39m. Its 17 levels and at 53m, gives you just over 3m per level, which is really small for commercial.
Can you clarify Will?

Great stuff. Been waiting for a substantial bronze glassed building in Adelaide for a long time. I thought the renders were just portraying morning light from the east in the renders because the afternoon render looks like it's just a blue/green curtain.

I would guess it's just the fun you can have with perspective in CAD software.Snorkie wrote:I know the article says 53m, and Will has mentioned 53m, but either somethings not right, or those renders are massively deceiving. The perspectives are not accurate. They have been made to emphasize the new development. In reality the new building will be approximately the same height as the new Santos HQ.Snorkie wrote:I know the article says 53m, and Will has mentioned 53m, but either somethings not right, or those renders are massively deceiving. And yes, the height between floors is 3m. This building is not targeted at big commercial clients but rather at smaller more boutique clients.

Bring it on... having a modern building of interest tacked alongside the boring Flinders Link box will help salvage what was once a great opportunity for development.

This building is way out of porportion (height-wise) for its allotment. The 9.1 metre frontage is the width of a double fronted house!! So you can imagine how weird it's going to look when built. Pity the ACC let this one through.

Unfortunately this project appears to have been cancelled.
The current building on the site was leased to the Gibaren Institute in July for a 6 year lease.

There may still be some life in this project after all. A 12 month extension was granted on november 3 of last year.

Ohh, this one! I approve of curvy, shiny gold.
