I'll give you a guess, it's in our biggest station.
Why do you think it was/is a failure?

North Terrace is pretty busy at peak hour, and I figure the motorists would be happy not to have the crossing lights with longer 'walk' cycles to accommodate the extra people.

I also see plenty of people using it during the day (I live nearby and pass by often).

So, what do you see is the problem? :?:

Makes sense. People go past to and from work. They can drop off and pick up.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

Uh it's not exactly a shopping centre. Sydney Central has some underpass with no shops at all. le gasp!

It's annoying it's shut on most nights though I guess it's not very viable during those times with the nearby Bank Street connection. This could change however with a future increase in train commuters traveling to AFL matches, riverbank precinct or even just being encouraged to use a decent modern train service to town.

Either way that arcade is in some desperate need of some TLC, with the signage and interior looking quite dated giving it a dingy unsafe feeling.

*fingers crossed*
Why can't they build a lift/escalator from the underpass up to the tram platform? It'd save hundreds of ppl who j-walk over the tracks every day and make tarnsferring from train to tram a whole lot safer.

They can, it would just be really expensive and the money is better spent elsewhere.

It really is a shame that the Elizabeth train station isn't more incorporated into the shopping center (although it is too far to be directly incorporated)

A bit more activity around the station (rather than being hidden away behind the Cashies and Radio Rentals) would do a lot to improve security and liveliness at the station.
