[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

Am I the only one that thinks this will look better? The fact that now we have the tower ‘boxes’ at slightly different angles means each section will reflect differently in the sun. This is opposed to one large uniform box in the previous application. The floor plates are far more interesting now. ...

[U/C] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million

I'm probably going against the grain here, but I quite like the revision. If the materials are of high quality, with the facade having low transparency, I actually reckon it could look quite striking. The view of the northern facing skyline will be massively more modern, with this tower all but bloc...

Don't think this has been posted here, but here's a render from the Synergy website of the roof: https://synergyconstruct.com.au/app/uploads/20200301_62-Photo-1000x563.jpg Another one too of what I think is the middle part: https://synergyconstruct.com.au/app/uploads/20200301_70-Photo-1000x563.jpg ...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

Article over at InDaily : 'Plans lodged for "iconic flagship" building at Lot Fourteen' Lettable area of 35,000 sqm, apparently. With Festival Square and the Charter Hall proposal on KWS similarly large, it's hard to see all three getting up within 5 years. Different objectives in terms of tenants ...

What are the metal structures being installed at the upper level?
I reckon this is the first transition level, and what you're seeing is the framing for the architectural features.

I'm really hopeful with this one...! Looking great so far, with the first "indent" levels now evident.

Imagine if this was being built with the originally proposed full glazing instead of the current facade with the spandrels.....

Still, with the crisp white concrete, the contrast is great. I've got high hopes for this site.

[U/C] Re: 104-106 Currie Street | 117m | 33lvl | Sofitel Hotel

Now that all the levels have been built, it doesn't look 117m tall at all. Its more closer to about 100-105m? The roofline of Westpac is 123m (antennae are 132m) and this certainly doesn't remotely appear to match the roofline of Westpac. Was there a variation to DA? The roof feature is still to co...

[U/C] Re: Penny Place | 78m | 24 levels | Apartments

I must admit, I'm pleasantly surprised by how this is progressing and revealing it's finished form. Yes, it may be simple, but the simple colour pallet with decent reflective glazing is quite nice. A standout? Far from it. But this may not end up being the blight on the skyline I first thought. Nice...

Depends on how much higher above the core the roof feature sits.

Either which way, this has given the west end a maaaaasive height boost. Should be a cracker once finished.
