I walked down to the xmas tree last night, the LED light display is outstanding. Shame the tree looks so undecorated during the day. Maybe more is to come?

It's always been that way in recent times hasn't it?

Up until this year it's always been decorated with physical ornaments and some lights. The current setup is like a tree shaped television. Go have a look after dark.

I was always impressed wirth that statue- quite interested in Victorian times this seems the ultimate for such a spot.

Will the Tour Down Under Village fit in the redeveloped Victoria Square, once the northern and southern sections are completed?

The Masterplan shows a garden in the southern section, arbors continued, Kaurna Centre, small wetland garden, re-located Fountain and more. Would the current TDU Village fit in the lawned event area in the northern section of the square? Or is there another plan?

Given that the TDU village is all temporary fencing and temporary marquees etc, the answer is yes it will fit into the redeveloped Victoria Square.
They will simply change the layout of the village to fit within the new surrounds.

Page 67 of the complete master plan envisages some TDU layouts, mainly occupying the northern section and plaza.

I don't know if this is true for the rest of Australian cities but a lot of Adelaide suburbs are pretty hideous. The houses are either mis-matched/poorly maintained, the gardens are shocking and unkempt, and even the upscale areas sometimes look like slums/ghettos at times… what gives? I mean even compared to suburbia in New Zealand I would say Adelaide ranks pretty poorly. Perhaps I've visited the wrong suburbs. But coming from an American suburbia, where everything is perfectly trimmed… to cars parked on the lawn and such.

Really?. I think you've been going to the wrong suburbs then.

I can't comment on the USA or any other country, though Adelaide is just about on par with other Australian cities. You've got your good areas aswell as the bad areas.

There were some positives as well with communities fighting back to make it a better place and manufacturing and promoting traditional American products. Still lots of crime, burnt out houses, and overgrown gardens.

I recently watched a film on Detroit, it looked almost third world in the wake of Auto manufacturing closures of some years back. I am sure we will do much much better here. There were some positives as well with communities fighting back to make it a better place and manufacturing and promoting traditional American products. Still lots of crime, burnt out houses, and overgrown gardens.

There were many more drivers that caused the urban flight from Detroit. Wasn't that much to do with the auto industry, more to do with the middle class preferring to live in the suburbs.

if we get bipartisan support, I can not see why we can't move on stronger and better for the experience

we also need to grow up as a state, Nuclear needs to be back on the table ASAP.
