To those who constantly claim Gum Trees fall down or shed branches at the same rate as any other tree, most of the trees brought down today by the wind were Gums. Explain that. The council should learn that they just aren't suitable for our cities.

would that be because there is more gums?
Perhaps you should stick with proven facts

Aren't they still fresh enough to uproot,
Matt
. Anyway we'll wait and see. We'll give them a few years, then we'll pass judgement. Sincerely though, hope all turns out good. Last thing we want is damage done to persons or things.

ARGH!
Square is looking mighty fine, can't wait for the water feature - does anyone know any more about this?
How it works, how it's going to look, what it's going to do?

Wow Vic Square looks great at night.... what a contrast to the southern section of the square.
Wouldn't it be great to have a seasonal feature where the xmas tree is at different times of the year? Eg big lighted cross at Easter, some lighted festival-related sculpture in Feb/March etc.

Looking brilliant by night. I'd love to see a spire finally built atop St Francis's bell tower and illuminated at night to add drama to the square's surrounds. The planned new court building south of the square should help create a sense of enclosure too.

I just wish there was more height amongst the buildings south of Victoria Sq and not necessarily along King William St.
In saying that though, this picture looks freakin' awesome!

Wouldn't it look great if the buildings surrounding the square had light features of some kind, possibly such as the Rundle Lantern. Would give an awesome Times Square feel to the square IMO.

This may be the most boring post I've ever written, but...
The busses that go through the square no longer go around it and turn around by the courts, they cut back through the middle again. I assume this is now a permanent thing again.
