Golden Grove road is sorely in need of a makeover. No reason why there cant be a separated bus lane (O-bahn-lite) and a bicycle lane from the Western side of G G rd near Milne road up to the Grove Way.

Big infrastructure investments are usually under-valued and & over-criticized while in the planning stage. It's much easier to envision the here and now costs and inconveniences, and far more difficult to imagine fully the eventual benefits.

McIntyre Road is the corridor / reservation for the northern leg of the Modbury Freeway (MATS Plan).

The O-Bahn track beyond Grand Junction Road was not part of Modbury / NE Freeway corridor. Freeway would have cut through in between NE Road and Trellois Street / Grenache Avenue to join up with with what is now McIntrye Road.

Govt won’t rule out demolishing houses for O-Bahn extension
The State Government says it is too early to know whether it will have to knock over houses for its proposed O-Bahn extension to Golden Grove.

The Government this morning announced it would spend $500,000 on a feasibility study to consider the merits extending the O-Bahn – the high-speed, guided bus corridor that currently runs from Tea Tree Plaza to the CBD – to Golden Grove in Adelaide’s northeast.
Transport Minister Stephen Mullighan told morning radio widening Golden Grove Road was one of the options under consideration to accommodate the proposed extension.
Golden Grove Road is surrounded by parks on both sides for much of its length – however, at some points, the boundaries of houses and businesses come near to the road.
Asked whether the extension would necessitate houses being demolished, a Government spokesperson did not rule out the possibility.
“It is too early to say which route an extension of the O-Bahn bus network would likely take,” the spokesperson told InDaily in response.
“Possible routes will be considered as part of the feasibility study.”
Mullighan told ABC Radio Adelaide this morning that the study would consider “what the possible alignments are, whether it’s a new track that needs to be installed – similar to what we’ve currently got on the O-Bahn – or whether we try and augment the existing road network, for example, Golden Grove Road, to try and get some extra capacity on there so that the buses can effectively run as express along that road”.
“We just need to work out not just what the costs are but I guess what that additional benefit would be of having a track over a road-based solution,” he said.

they probably won't go for the most expensive option, but I hope moving the TTP interchange closer to TTP itself is atleast looked at. a portal starting south of Smart Road, running under Tea Tree Plus and a portal on the west side of Golden Grove Road

Can anyone explain to me the business case for the 0-Bahn extension along Golden Grove Road?
I know (politically) what its about......marginal seats in the north eastern suburbs.
I would rather see the money spent on.....
- Gawler and Outer Harbor train line electrification, including a more aggressive policy of grade separation and some sort of master plan for those train lines that involves station culling and upgrades, and transport orientated developments.
- Even along the current O-Bahn there is virtually no development, no medium density apartments bringing people closer to frequent reliable public transport. The O-Bahn terminus at the TTP end is a shambles, with poor connectivity to the (boring) shopping centre.
Can someone from the DPTI please spend $89 on Tiger flights each way to Sydney and check out Chatswood, St Leonards, Paramatta train stations and see how they have been integrated into the local shopping precincts, with residential built above or near-by.
So many better ways to spend money achieving greater outcomes........

IIRC of course to make it viable for a developer to sink their money into it apartments were to be built on top of the carpark. The usual FRUITS (FeaR of Urban Infil& Towers) got on their hobby horse of uh-oh, 6 storeys = highrise tower in the suburbs so must be bad news and shouted it down

Up date of the steel structures at the northern entrance on Hackney Rd. There are more arches to be installed .These are spread out in the central island waiting to be installed .Similar steel work is at the western entrance near Grenfell St.
