A picture from Tuesday. I thought I saw some glass windows on level 1 0r 2 but they seemed to be set back compared to the concrete columns. Please click on picture for bigger.

You can see the windows starting to be installed in these photos on the lower levels. Taken at lunch time Friday 21/8.

I know it's a cloudy day, but I think we can safely say those spandrels (which became concrete rather than glass upon variation) will not have the promised reflectivity.
Can't comment yet whether that's a good or bad thing.

Well, I'm going to come out and say it, I'm really happy with that! I had serious doubts about this building from a glazing POV but just from those few window panes alone, the reflectivity and the mat finish on the paneling below really looks quite good. Certainly makes up for the dogs shit glazing next-door. So long as they polish the exposed concrete defining every level then this should turn out reasonably well.

Hoping this will turn out nicely. Those images look great thank you for sharing!
Imagine if this turns out better than its neighbour.

Agreed, glazing looks good. Those pics also answer the question of whether the concrete will be painted.

Imagine if this was being built with the originally proposed full glazing instead of the current facade with the spandrels.....
Still, with the crisp white concrete, the contrast is great. I've got high hopes for this site.

Perhaps if it was an office tower it would've been floor to ceiling. As for the final look, I think many here will have to eat their words. As I've said this will definitely be the best looking of the student towers. It will put Kyren's to shame.
Cheers

I'm all there for this to be more beautiful than its neighbour. My only "aesthetic" hesitation is how the two towers standing so closely side by side might look a bit imbalanced on the skyline, but it's a nice problem to have I guess

I have no particular preference for glazing over other materials, but I think my concern with the concrete spandrels is they would look cheap and that they would introduce a strong horizontal line that detracts from the building's primary vertical expression. It remains to be seen on both counts, IMO.

I agree, but hopefully they'll be less of a sore thumb once projects get up across the road at the Budget and SA Health sites.
