[U/C] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)
I don't think I've heard it called the "Burnside shopping centre". It's either the "Burnside Village" or just "the Village".
It's been a horrendously pedestrian-unfriendly development. Absolute nightmare accessing the shops on foot from the north and east, although access from the east and the town hall was never particularly good crossing that carpark entry/exit at the old "Plaza" row of shops. It definitely caters more for the "Toorak (Gardens) tractors" than pedestrians.
So hopefully whatever retail/dining offerings are in there are worth it.

Japanese fashion giant Uniqlo will open an outlet at Burnside Village later this year, its third store in Adelaide.
The global chain is one of several retailers that have been linked with the centre as part of a major expansion that’s nearing completion.
In a statement on Monday, Uniqlo confirmed it would open a store at Burnside in Autumn, following the opening of its Westfield Marion outlet in May last year.
The single-storey, ground floor Burnside Village store will stretch across close to 770sq m on the corner of Greenhill Rd and Sydney St.
Uniqlo Australia chief executive Fuminori Adachi said the Burnside opening followed a strong performance at the brand’s first two stores in Adelaide.
“Thanks to the amazing support from our beloved customers in Adelaide, we are pleased to announce our third store in South Australia, opening this Autumn at Burnside Village,” he said.
“We are very grateful for the loyal support of Adelaide customers since opening here in 2022.
“Now, our team looks forward to bringing Uniqlo LifeWear, known for its beautiful design and high quality, to even more customers here through the new store.”
The expansion of Burnside Village is doubling the centre’s footprint to almost 39,000sq m, including 80 new stores with three levels of additional retail space, a new premium mall, a new dining area, 560 undercover car parks and a 24-hour gym.

Spanish retail giant Zara reopened its store at Burnside in October following a multimillion-dollar refurbishment and after signing a new 20-year lease.
Hundreds of customers lined Rundle Mall before the long-anticipated opening of Uniqlo’s first Adelaide store in November 2022.
Uniqlo, which was launched in Yamaguchi, Japan, in 1949, has more than 2500 outlets globally and is known for its casual wear with a Japanese twist.
The “LifeWear” apparel, for which Uniqlo is famous, includes puffer jackets and affordable luxury cashmere knits and linen shirts, plus garments with in-built technology such as UV protection.

Some of the stores are advertising. No “luxury” brands as yet.
Jobs add online for:
Seafolly - new to SA
Uniqlo - new store
Mecca - larger store
Elka - new to SA
Watches of Switzerland - new to SA/not specified as Burnside just says “Adelaide” so could be CBD
Kivari - new to SA

I’ve heard Tiffany may be moving from the city to burnside, as for other luxury brands either some have pulled out or are waiting to see if LV stays and opens a permanent store or pulls out.
[U/C] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)
Very surprised they are opening a Uniqlo as that’s not very burnside clientele would of expected a COS instead, does anyone know if Aesop will be returning or any of the shops what are on Rundle st will be moving (Aje, Zimmerman)?

As someone who begrudgingly goes to Burnside Village occasionally I think people are misrepresenting it's clientele
Whilst there are some up market brands, there are heaps of mid range brands.
I mean sure, it's probably nicer than your average shopping centre but it's really not as high end as people want to make it.
Looking forward to this finishing though, sick of that intersection

Now that would be a devastating blow to the ACP. They'd probably not let that happen.

Apparently it’s confirmed it’s moving from the city to burnside

You'll have to do better than 'apparently it's confirmed', whose or what's your source?

A Tiffany worker at the city store told me they are moving from the city

If true, that would be a hammer blow to the ACP.
The ACP are trying very hard to establish a luxury precinct within the plaza. Clearly its not working for tiffany who have been in the CBD since the 2000s, what a shame.

Here for your viewing pleasure are some progress pics taken this very eve.
Looks like the footpath paving will shortly be laid. Cracker sunset

And from the intersection:

I note the tacky blue sign has been turned off. Hopefully someone is rethinking that
