Gawd! I'm old enough to remember Marine Land at West Beach too. I loved Dazzle Land when it was open. The best thing was the water cannon game

I can remember when they built it, and the King Street bridge to replace the wooden King St & Anderson Ave bridges, which were
good spots for bream under the layers of algae. The inlet pipe for West Lakes was another, with a temporary steel jetty. The
current King St bridge is decaying faster than I am.

You missed out on a great cultural experience, my dear Cruise! Push Fernwood and its flurry of fat females out of your mind, and imagine roller coasters, helicopters, giant balls, playgrounds, water cannons and arcade games several storeys in the air.

I remember being at the track for the '95 Grand Finale.
A sad day.

Even though I am the youngest on here (though not by much), I still remember travelling on the Redhens when I was about 5. Heavy smell of diesel and hot cast iron brake shoes, doors banging around or jammed wide open and finally, the ball of blake smoke they produced when they pulled away from Parafield Gardens. They honestly looked like garbage in their last days (as you can see in the photo) but were enough to make me a railfan.

While not my photo, it was taken at Salisbury during June 1996.

Blessed are the young, for they shall inherit the National Debt.
I'm 37
Never argue with stupid people. They just drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Earth calendar?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
