
Population Target - Increase permanent population of city to 26,000 by 2010. Increase overnight population to 34,000 by 2010. Both targets are double of the 2001 population figure.
End of June 2004: Permanent residents - 14,361 (+627 on 2003, +1,530 on 2001). Way behind target, however when you look at last year's increase compared to the prior years, the pace has improved dramatically. Estimated permanent population at beginning of March Quarter is 14,883 - so we're gathering some pace.
