What a joke. My guess is it'll be approved without question though.
I pray this slowdown in the economy doesn't rob us of our most anticipated projects over the next few years. The credit outlook doesn't look great.

I know Flinders Link is boxey etc, but was it also dumbed down at some point from an original plan?

7 levels in the CBD, what a joke. I wouldve expected developers to be pushing for taller buildings seeing the ACC has been stripped of its powers rather than chopping 10 floors off of them.

Expect away - but economics is what developers look at these days, not how tall they can go. Developers are speculators, they expect a return. If they don't estimate being able to sell 17 floors then they'll build only as many as they estimate will sell.Joely wrote:7 levels in the CBD, what a joke. What happened to the HUGE demand for office space that was expected? Is it still coming? *hopes so* (I'm not religious but I'd like a praying smilie here please)

I saw a news report stating office vacancy rates were about 1.0%... or was that rental properties? I forget.
[U/C] Re: #Approved: 57-69 Wyatt St - 64m, 17 lvl Mixed Use
Rentals are at 1.0%, less actually. 0.8% I think was the true average figure.
Office vacancies are at about 4-5%?

I thought it was around 2.5% - may be wrong here.Norman wrote:I saw a news report stating office vacancy rates were about 1.0%... or was that rental properties? I forget.
That figure you quoted I saw as current average housing price rises in Adelaide.. Falling in most other cities.

Can someone change the thread title, it still says 17lvls..
[U/C] Re: #PRO: 57-69 Wyatt St | ~28m | 7lvls | Office
At 7 levels, I think this project is no longer worthy of having its own thread. It should be merged into the low-mid rise development thread, where all the small projects belong.

I think that may be premature. Lets just see how it plays out. Will wrote:At 7 levels, I think this project is no longer worthy of having its own thread. It should be merged into the low-mid rise development thread, where all the small projects belong.
