well I went in with my camera but I forgot that it wasn't recharged, so no pics sorry. However I did meet Howie and we had a chit chat, and he took a few snaps.
I was impressed at how tall and large the whole thing is actually gonna be, just from looking at how some of the columns go all the way from top to bottom - I reckon its gonna be visible probably from standing at West Tce looking up Hindley Street. How cool is this gonna be once up and running.

let's see how this goes, midnight is a reasonable start. The ACC would suffer a media backlash if they intended to illuminate til 2-3am, especially with all the recent concerns about late-night venues and drunken behaviour.
note: personally i don't think there is a late-night behaviour problem, but it's all about community perception.

Oooh, I like!
For something that's relatively dull in appearance it looks flashy. Maybe its the foresight and knowledge of it being illuminated at night? Most people passing by would probably think it's just crap being put up.

I concur, thanks Howie. Looking good and even during the will look better than i was concerned about, well better than the appearance of the carpark!

nice one. Howie was explaining to me that 1 square frame equals 1 pixel, so Im wondering if it could show words fairly clearly, such as when the Fringe is on, have a huge Fringe word swirling around, or even give us a temperature update every couple of mins. oooh the things we could do with this

Like Big Kev, Im excited

Visible from West Terrace...... Were you smoking some weed or something earlier today ??
I'd say outside the myer centre would be the furthest you could see it from.
Anyway it looks pretty cool already.... how good will it be when it's finished !!
This one's going to have a massive impact on the CBD. Two great developments on either side
of the mall - This on the eastern side and the tramline extension on the western side.

Also, has this type of development happened in the other Aussie cities at all ?
I've never seen it in my ventures interstate. Is it a first for Australia ?

so how many pixels in total? it would be reasonably easy to design images knowing this detail. Anyone got a piece of graph paper? I can see S-A submitting a document full of options for them to consider

I dont mean you could clearly see every detail, I mean you could see just see a bit of it, because no other building would be lit up to the same degree. I can see that carpark from the cnr of Hindley and Morphett Streets, so I dont know why I couldn't see it from West Tce :wank:
