I'm confused.

New app lodged yesterday:

Lodgement Date: 7/08/2008

Could this 17 level building be the hotel? I know it says office but why the new application. Weird. :?

No, that address corresponds to CCT8.

Sounds like we've just lost 10 metres from Tower 8 then. Which also would make the latest blue glass render of the building obsolete too. What a lucky dip this one's turning out to be.

Another option is they've stuffed up the address and 12-26 is supposed to be 42-56 Franklin. Then it might be an application to begin works on the 17 level western tower on the old Telstra site. It's a long shot I know.

I do not think that we have lost 10m from CCT8. Previous planning applications for CCT8 have never mentioned '20 levels' but always 17 levels. This is because the council does not count the ground level, mezzanine level and plant level as levels; thereby a 20 level building is theoretically 17 levels.

I suspect this application is for the ammended plans approved on Monday night. It is a retrospect application.

If in doubt count the number of floors on the render - looks like 17++ = the 20

OK thanks, I didn't think they included plant levels but had no idea they didn't count ground and mezzanine levels. So if you can put up with me for one more question if that's the case why is 42-56 Franklin officially considered 17 and 15 levels with council when it looks like the level counts include everything except plant? TIA.

Yes. It's being used as an example for my question. Read the question.

PS. I'll delete the photo tomorrow night to avoid further confusion.

I can't answer your question because there is no consistency in the numbering of floors. My tip is to personally count the number of floors from the plans to avoid confusion.

Yes it's the same proposal. Standard practice to resubmit the amended application. Should be approved fairly quickly I would say.

Checked out the minutes for that meeting and all these images are from the confidential information which is now public in the minutes, this is the amended design, (office floors facing Franklin Street on 1st 3 levels instead of a car park and a canopy over Franklin Street plus other changes):

The green red sections are a landscaped verticle wall (garden wall) very cool stuff (1st for Adelaide and nation for a commercial building?) Plus that light blue glass facing Bentham is frosted glass to improve the appearance from what was proposed previously.
