I read your response on Adelaide Now to the negative posts, nicley done Brando
I was there with a mate to see it last night and it was fantastic!!!!! I made sure we had a good spot, just near the awning of UniHouse and were not disapointed!
Well done to all involved and lets hope that this is just the begining in terms of new landmarks for Adelaide
(Oh and by the way, how cool would it be to have the smoke machines and strobe lights on the carpark roof, remain permanently as part of Rundle Lantern!)

I bumped into some family friends, who all thought that this is a temporary display, happening for 2 weeks and then get pulled down. I dont think they believed me when I said its here to stay.
Thanks for the video Howie, thats the part I missed.
I'm interested to see how many people will stand around and watch it each night, caus I reckon it will become a tourist attraction
How do you know what I look like? I didn't get there until 11pm 'cos I had to work. Danggg. But it looked unreal, they had this really cool Winvaders thing when I was watching it.

I think one of the best things about the lantern is that it's unique.
No where else in the world has this as far as I know.
The ACC could have covered up the carpark with billboards, a video screen or advertising,
but instead they've gone for something different and it looks like its really worked for them.

This thing is just a giant out-of-date tetris screen.
(But I still like it)

Well, I was there and brought my parents along too. Huge public interest as expected, and everything went off nicely as expected... the Lantern looks even better in real-life than any pics and vids. I reckon some retro game-style pixel art would be very suitable and work brilliantly - imagine if they adapted a video of a level from the original Super Mario Bros being played. Or maybe Space Invaders or Pong and such.
I was standing near the back, in Rundle Mall, beside that noisy machine that was doing the smoke and/or lights, and there were some guys with cameras just in front. Afterwards, I asked if either were Sensational-Adelaide users... one was from Fusion (I think his name was Darren), who says he coems to this site but isn't registered, and the other was from the Adelaide City Council. And that's when I gave up my search.

I was there on saturday too and it showed a game of pong. It also showed this frog eating black flies buzzing around it. I reckon they should put a tetris game on there. The range this thing can generate is pretty cool.
