[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
Below is a link that has information on where and when the fed's $500m is to be spent.
http://www.nationbuildingprogram.gov.au ... ril_09.pdf
There's no mention of the torrens Road/Port Road/Outer Harbour railway section but $70m is allocated to planning.

Any idea when they will upgrade the section between Grange and Torrens roads(if ever...)??
[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
There might be some news in next week's budget, but if not, it's still on the cards for the future.rev wrote:Any idea when they will upgrade the section between Grange and Torrens roads(if ever...)??

Heavy Traffic

There is a notable difference in bitumen height along South Road between Forest Street and Glengyle Terrace

South-bound on-ramp under traffic

Shiny new signage

Underpass under traffic (this seemed intermittend)

Bus rurns right onto Anzac Highway City-bound

Memorial Garden

Looking back on the Northbound off-ramp

Traffic moving towards Glenelg

Traffic under the Underpass

The busy Southbound on-ramp

New paving in front of those pesky businesses

Traffic banking up

The future slip lane towards South Road - Traffic currently use the neighbouring lane

Southbound off-ramp

Looking North along South Road

Northbound on-ramp

Looking towards the City

The Vet's new surroundings - including a new Car Park

More Footpaths along South Road

More noise walls

More signage

Traffic merging

Well done! Thanks for the comprehensive photo update.
Those overhead "Exit" signs seem a little... excessive.

Thanks for the the photos Norman!
Petty though it may be, I have to say, I really detest that style of fencing as used in the underpass median.

I agree the fencing is depressing. What is the reason for that? security?

Am I the only one who thinks all the "gardens" around the intersection are wasteful? I can foresee them turning into "shopping trolley pasture" in the future. Who's going to actually use the space?
Why not sell the land back to businesses?

Remember, the signs aren't for the benefit of the locals who already know where everything is. Having driven in several unfamiliar cities, I don't think that I've ever had cause to complain about seeing too much signagedrwaddles wrote:SecondedAtD wrote:Those overhead "Exit" signs seem a little... excessive.

Why do the line-markings tell you that you can't turn left, but the AD sign does?
[COM] Re: South Road Upgrade
I'm not too sure either, but there are slip lanes to turn left. I think the line markings may only refer to options at the traffic lights.drwaddles wrote:Why do the line-markings tell you that you can't turn left, but the AD sign does?
