Altitude making an impact from Light Square. I like the sense of enclosure and of 'being in a city' some of squares are starting to achieve - mostly so in Hindmarsh Sqaure but to a lesser extent Light and Vic Squares

Thanks for the pic update Adelarch.
I am starting to worry about how Altitude will appear once completed.
Having looked at the plans on The Precinct website there is a heap of blank wall space with limited windows for each apartment. You can see this now as a heap of concrete walls go up. Most of the glazing will occur around the balconies which are meant to be sun rooms with opening windows like the Gallery. If they have those solid frames around these 'sun room' windows this building is going to look terrible imo.
The concrete going up appeared to include reflective panelling in the renders. If it ends up simply being painted or remains that darker grey colour, it will not be a good look with so much wall space.
I think this could easily be a case of another very deceptive render and a poor 'real life' outcome by Urban Construct. I hope I'm wrong.

I agree UrbanSG. I'd be happy if doesn't look horribly tacky, that'll be a victory compared to the renders. I have low expectations on this one.
I also hope I'm wrong.

Great shots Adelarch - esp. the first one. I agree about the sense of enclosure- have noted this for some time on HSQ.

For some reason photos of the Gallery always remind me of that deserted city near Chernobyl.
Quality of finish will make or break Altitude's exterior. I expect the design to look ok by day and really, really good lit up at night. It always was going to have plenty of blank spaces but still should be an interesting building to look at.
Even if it turns out ugly as sin it's a fantastic development to inject badly needed life into the area. 1000x better than a decrepid feral cat infested bakery churning out very average custard tarts.

Oh that hurts to hear that! I love those soggy pastried, non-dairy crema oh so wrong custard tarts.
All 500 calories+ of them. So bad they're good, Balfour's artery clogging gift to the world.

I'm with Benski81, you can take away my Freedom (you can take away my Gallery and Altitude) but don't take away my custard tarts!
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

I agree Will, It doesn't look too bad at all...it is definitely something a bit different for Adelaide. I guess people love to hate anything with UC. Although, not sure about those yellow pylons---guess we'll wait and see!

You'll have to look at some of the renders earlier on this thread to get better guidance. My response to the noodles was poor but they do look more impressive on those earlier renditions.
