Re: DEMOGRAPHICS
Assumedly, that Adelaide has improved it's growth rate of 1.2% from 2007 levels; the population as of 30th June 2010 should be around 1,200,398 - give or take a few. "Greater Adelaide" - which consists of Mount Barker, and the entire Barossa and Fleurieu regions comprise another 139,517 re...

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
Has anyone taken a look on NearMap lately? The encroachment of the tramline/roadworks onto the Parklands is absolutely tragic. When you see it from the aerial perspective, it really highlights just how impacting the works have been, comparable to what you see and judge from street-level. Frankly I'm...

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
When the Adelaide Oval redevelopment was announced, Mike Rann pubicly stated that there will not be a tramline to Adelaide Oval or North Adelaide, when asked about improving PT accessibility. The $20m pedestrian bridge is designed to take people to the train station and tram stop quicker.

Re: The Economic News Thread
Well, for instance where I work; we have about 30-40 checkout staff all doing 15-20 hours per week - part time basis. Only the management do 37.5 hours, and that's about 5 of them. I'd prefer it if we had 20-30 staff doing 20-30 hours per week. I am really getting screwed over getting shitty hours a...

The current proposal has a floor-space total of 32,000sqm.
I think they'll just buy out the proposal (cheaper and easier to do it that way) and just proceed ahead once a tenant is found.
Grocon's the one who developed Eureka Tower, are they not?

That's promising news. Seems like this building will be called The Atrium. Thread title change? I notice the initial application was for a 6 level carparking and office tower, and the latest application was for an 8 level carparking - no tower. This would mean if the revised application was approved...

Re: The Great Roads Debate
I honestly believe the problem does not lie within South Road; but with the lack of available north-south corridors throughout the Adelaide metropolitan area. South Road is the only corridor, and hence we need to reduce our dependancy on it, not increase it! I think that there would be far more bene...

Re: [Adelaide Uni] #UC Eng. Bld |#PRO Union Hall |#UC Hughes Plz
Yeah, that's the one I was talking about - the facade that ought to be retained. It'd make a great entrance. Looks rather imposing, for a relatively small structure! Hope they can compromise on this outcome, and not one way or the other...

Re: [Adelaide Uni] #UC Eng. Bld |#PRO Union Hall |#UC Hughes Plz
The facade ought to be retained; the rest can go. I'm a fan of that 50's red brick look; rather elegant. Is there a name for the architectural style of that time?
